Logbook of a journey through Denmark and Sweden

Day 1: Setting off with the Credo

From Dresden to the Ivendorf campsite near the ferry crossing to Denmark. A total of 437 km, our first longer journey to get a feel for the luxury motorhome. Its proximity to Lübeck is ideal for a day trip, and a visit to the marzipan outlet is of course a MUST!

Day 2: Finally in Denmark

The first night at Credo was a complete success. There is definitely no shortage of space. Today we are finally heading to Denmark. Our destination is Esbjerg. Including the ferry trip, we will be traveling 279 km. We are stopping at the Brosemose campsite, which is tucked away in the dunes and is surprisingly huge. If you are brave enough, you can also anchor right on the beach.

Day 3: A day of rest

We enjoy the beach and the peace and quiet during walks. The bunkers in the dunes from the Second World War's Western Wall are impressive memorials. There is a museum dedicated to this in Blavand, right nearby.

Day 4: Hamlet Town

We hit the road again, traveling 335 km to Helsingør, the town of Hamlet. Must-see: visit Kronborg Castle and enjoy the beautiful historic town. The best place to park is the parking lot at the harbor. There are six spaces, which can be easily booked via a machine or smartphone.

Day 5: Off to Sweden

Crossing to Sweden. After a ferry ride of just under 30 minutes, which runs every 20 minutes, we arrive in Helsingborg and continue on to the moose park in Lagan. Moose are simply a must in Scandinavia. Then we continue via Jöhnköping to Gränna. A total of 271 km, and the Credo handles really well. We find a great parking spot right at the ferry terminal on Lake Vättern. It's a lovely little town and harbor with many excellent restaurants. Köttbullar are a must!

Day 6: We explore Sweden

We make a detour to Vadstena and enjoy the wonderful little town with its impressive moated castle. Then we continue 135 km to Motala on the Göta Canal and decide on a campsite in Söderköping right on the canal. The Credo fits in anywhere – really impressively compact for such a luxury class.

Day 7: Another break

No new stage today. We just walk along the canal, watch the ships go by, and enjoy ice cream and Swedish cake. A day like this without traveling is a must on a long trip so you can really enjoy the area. The journey is the destination, but sometimes you can take a break. It works really well in Credo.

Day 8/9: Midsummer Festival in Västervik

We drive a leisurely 98 km further to Västervik to the camping resort with its own archipelago and take part in the midsummer festival. We are so impressed by the festival and the area that we spontaneously decide to stay an extra day and enjoy the peace and quiet and the landscape.

Day 10: Continuing through Sweden

We take a trip to Kosta to visit the glassworks. It's really exciting to see the craftsmanship at work. After this highlight, we continue for a total of 261 km until we decide to spend the night at the parking space in the harbor in Karlskrona.

Day 11: The gem on the Baltic Sea

We decided to drive the 184 km to Ystad, a real gem on the Baltic Sea. The parking space is idyllically located at the harbor and offers an ideal starting point for walks on the beach and in the city.

Day 12: City trip to Malmö

Malmö is a must-see. A city that simply has to be seen. We reach our campsite near the Öresund Bridge after only a 58 km drive. Shopping and exquisite cuisine are on the agenda. Malmö is simply perfect for this.

Day 13: Crossing the Öresund Bridge

The Öresund Bridge is truly impressive. We enjoy the 8 km crossing to Köge, back to Denmark. On the way, we stop at Gisselfeld Castle, whose park is really worth seeing. Then we drive to Vordingborg for lunch at the harbor. Afterwards, we continue to Magleby, where we marvel at the chalk cliffs. In the evening, after a total of 100 km for the day, we reach a parking space at the harbor in Stege.

Day 14: Back to Germany

Off to Rödby. We take the ferry to Puttgarten and stop in Heiligenhafen. All in all, it's only a short 170 km drive, including the ferry. Our parking spot is at the AMEOS Clinic with a view of the inland lake. Is the trip really coming to an end already? In the Concorde Credo, we would love to stay on the road for a few more weeks.

Day 15: A little bonus stop

We don't want to admit that our two-week tour is coming to an end, so we use the return journey to spontaneously visit Braunschweig, 299 km away. Beautiful parking space with a relaxing swimming and wellness center. The city is well worth a visit.

Day 16: Home – Time for a summary

The inevitable has been postponed by just one day: today we have to go home. After 311 km, we arrive back in Dresden. Behind us lie 16 days and a good 3000 km with rest breaks and many unforgettable experiences. The Credo performed superbly and, at 8 m long, offers just the right amount of space for a tour like this. Pure luxury on a truly manageable scale. Our fuel consumption was a good 15 l/100 km, which is still within acceptable limits for such a luxury liner.

We can highly recommend a trip like this to Denmark and Sweden and would love to set off again right away. And never give back the Concorde Credo 791MI.
